There are a few ways to add clients to your Fit Clients account. You can add them individually from your admin panel, import a list of clients directly into your account, or have your clients create their own accounts on the client portal site.

Recommended: Clients Create Own Account

We recommend that you direct your clients to create their own account. You get a couple of added benefits. First, since they will be choosing a password when they register, they will be able to log on to the portal and create and manage their own goals and weigh ins. This is a lot less work for you! Plus you can always monitor their activity, weigh ins, and goals to make sure they are using the software.

When your clients register on your client portal they can use their Facebook account to register in just a couple of seconds. Fit Clients will get grab their photo and basic profile information from Facebook and add it to their Fit Clients profile.

To have your clients create their own account:

  1. Send your clients to your subdomain http://yoursubdomain.fitclients.com (make sure there is no "www." in the URL
  2. Click on "Create an Account"
  3. Click on Facebook Login, or "I'd rather sign in with email"
  4. Follow the steps to create an account

Broadcast Your Registration Link

If you want your clients to manage their own goals (which we recommend) you can also add them to Fit Clients is by using the broadcast feature. It will send out an email to your clients with a link to your registration page, where they can quickly create an account and start adding goals. They can sign up in seconds using their Facebook account, Fit Clients will grab their photo and basic profile info automatically.

To get started, go to Users > Clients, click on ‘Add’ in the top right corner, and then click on the ‘Broadcast Registration Link’ button on the menu. You will be prompted to download a .csv template file to add your clients to. It can be opened in Microsoft Excel, or any other spreadsheet program. Simply add the email addresses of your clients to the template, save the file, and upload it.

Next, you can customize the subject and message contents of the email that they will receive. When you’re done customizing and reviewing the email message click ‘Send Message’. It may take up to 30 minutes for your clients to get the email.

Adding Clients Individually

To add clients individually, go to Users > Clients, click on ‘Add’ in the top right corner, and then click on the big ‘Add a Client’ button on the add clients menu. The only piece of information that is required to add a client is their email address, but we recommend filling out everything you can.

Importing Clients

You can add multiple clients to your account at once by using the import feature. Go to Users > Clients, click on ‘Add’ in the top right corner, and then click on the ‘Import Clients’ button on the menu.

You will be prompted to download a .csv template file that can be opened in Microsoft Excel, or any other spreadsheet program. Simply add your clients to the import template, save the file, and upload it. Using this template will prevent any system errors from occurring. To ensure the file will import correctly:

  1. Make sure the file is saved as a .csv file, and not a .xls, or .xlsx.
  2. Make sure there are no spaces in the section titles at the top.
  3. Make sure all sections are accounted for (Email, Name, Phone, Street, City, State, Country, PostalCode).
  4. Make sure the Email column is filled out with unique emails. If there is no email, the client will not be added.
  5. Make sure to add the First and Last Name in the Name column.
  6. Make sure there is no additional information included in additional rows or columns.

The only piece of information that is required in the template file is their email address, but you can add other info, such as address and phone number.

We recommend that you have your clients manage their own goals. It’s easy and automated! If your intention is to use Fit Clients in this way, we strongly recommend using the ‘Broadcast Registration Link’ option for adding clients instead of the import method. While importing clients will add them to your Fit Clients account, they will still have to register on the client portal in order to log in.
